About Busia County
Busia is a County in the former Western Province of Kenya. It is located directly east of the border town of Busia, Uganda, and boarders lake Victoria to the SouthEast and Bungoma County County and Kakamega County to the East. The County is composed of six Seven Sub-Counties, and had a population of 893,681 as of the most recent census in 2019.

Busia is 465.7 KM from Nairobi and it takes 8 hrs and 32 mins by road. You can also connect by air through Kisumu where it will take you 45 minutes then drive 2 hrs and 15 minutes to Busia.
Commercial Activities:
The main economic activities include trading, farming both crop ( with Sugarcane as the main cash crop) and livestock farming. The marachi people in Butula Sub-County are culturally known for making the popular marachi suffers and pottery.
